Shawn Lee Jerrells, 52, of Peeples Valley, Arizona, passed away on February 11, 2023 near Wilhoit, Arizona. He was born July 7, 1970 in Wickenburg, Arizona, to Jack Lee and Dixie Jerrells.

He was retired a Gunnery Sergeant after a 22-year career in the United States Marine Corp.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Savannah, father Jack, uncle Tom Jerrells, aunt Babe O’Connell, uncle Cork Davis, and four grandparents. He is survived by his Son Joshua, mother Dixie, brothers Matt and Jim, aunt Barbara Davis, ex-wife Christina Windfeldt, numerous cousins, extended family, and friends.

He joined 2nd Radio Battalion in 2013, served as a Special Intelligence System Communicator (MOS 2651) and was promoted his current rank of Lance Cpl. on October 1, 2013. His awards include the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

General Alfred Grey

General Alfred M. Gray Jr., the 29th Commandant of the Marine Corps, died March 20 at his home in Alexandria, Virginia. He was 95. General Gray was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 39 years, Jan, who passed away January 30, 2020.

Part of Charlie Company, 2nd Radio Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Luke deployed to Afghanistan as team leader of SIGINT Support Team 6 in January of 2011. Luke‘s team was assigned to the Kajaki District in Helmand Province. The team was mission-tasked shortly after their arrival, and he volunteered for their first patrol. Luke was killed in action on that patrol.

Jim was born in Chattanooga, TN on December 26, 1952. He retired as a police officer, having worked with both the Seaside and Sand City Police Departments, in 2013. But law enforcement was Jim’s second career after he retired from the United States Marine Corps after 30 years of active-duty service. He retired with the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant and the technical specialty of Cryptologic/Electronic Warfare Chief.

Cpl Aragon, 20, was serving in Hawaii with the U.S. Marine Corps when he fell while on duty and subsequently passed away. He will be sadly missed by his Marine family and all who knew him.

Lance Corporal Kenneth Lee Richmond II passed away in Aiken, South Carolina, on Saturday, July 23, 2022. He was currently stationed at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia serving the NSA as an analyst. Kenneth was well liked and respected by his fellow Marines. To quote his Company Commanding Officer, Major Ryan Mitchell and his Master Sargent Joshua Todd, “Kenneth displayed incredible positive demeanor in front of his fellow Marines. He was a fine man and a fine Marine.”
